Despite the complications brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Tourism (DOT) continues to churn up ideas to promote the Philippines.

How? The DOT on April 25 posted a video on Facebook enticing foreigners to visit the country once the threat of the pandemic has dissipated.

“To all our foreign friends,” the FB post starts off.

“Beyond the Philippines’ breathtaking beaches, you can discover a wide range of exhilarating adventures, relaxing getaways, and diverse cultures that can sate the wanderlust you must be feeling right now,” the post further read.

“But until we can travel again, stay at home, dream, and #WakeUpInPH,” the DOT’s post said.

The video has been viewed more than 220,000 times, gotten more than 6,200 reactions and has been shared more than 5,200 times.

The DOT included a disclaimer that the video was shot entirely before the COVID-19 pandemic started.
