Volleyball star Jia Morado and boyfriend Miguel De Guzman have raised P1 million worth of donations from their fundraising campaign for coronavirus (COVID-19) frontliners.
In the campaign’s Facebook account dubbed “Every Little Thing Counts”, the couple shared they’ve reached P1,028,031.75 total donations as of April 23.
Earlier proceeds were donated to six hospitals but with the amount, the couple said they’ve already reached out to 14 hospital beneficiaries.
The fundraiser has produced 1,600 personal protective equipment, 4,000 surgical gloves and 3,700 KN95 masks.
“We are happy to share that all of our PPE supplies are now in
transit,” the couple posted on Facebook over the weekend.
“Big thanks to Rebisco for helping us with our deliveries, our amazing ELTC team behind the initiative and everyone whose generosity and support made this possible.”
Among the hospital beneficiaries are Philippine General Hospital, Jose P. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, Carmona Hospital and Medical Center, Fe Del Mundo Medical Center, Gapan City District Hospital, Good Samaritan General Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, Nueva Ecija Doctors-Hospital Cabanatuan, Pagamutang Bayan ng Carmona,
Philippine Children’s Medical Center, Quarantine Facility Gapan CHO, Quezon City General Hospital, San Juan Medical Center, and Veterans Memorial Medical Center.
The campaign, which started late last March, raised funds through selling sports memorabilia such as jerseys mostly from volleyball players. They’ve also received cash donations.
