3 SAP beneficiaries caught gambling in Isabela

Three persons, who were beneficiaries of the government’s Special Amelioration Program (SAP), were arrested by Tumaini Police for gambling last April 25 in Purok 6, Barangay Lapogan, Tumauini, Isabela.

Arrested were Arnel Manalo, 29; Jolita Talosig, 24; and Valentino Allapita, 45. All of them were farmers and beneficiaries of SAP.

Barangay officials earlier caught the three farmers in the act of playing “tong-its”, a local card game, even as the community continued to be under enhanced quarantine.

Tumauini police immediately went to Barangay Lapogan where the suspects were turned over to them.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 2 (PRO-2) reported arresting eight other persons also for illegal gambling.

PRO-2 Director Brig. Gen. Angelito Casimiro said that at about 5:40 p.m., April 25, police personnel conducted anti-illegal gambling operations in Barangay Bautista, Santiago City.

The operations resulted in the arrest of Rene Tominez Acob, 53; Flora Mae Luiz Tominez, 37; Vaneza Cadiente Tominez, 30; Almar Carag Zipagan ,38; Marjon Trinidad Pacano, 18; and three minors.

They were caught playing “Lucky 9”.
