Angeles City appropriates P88 million for mass testing

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has appropriated a total of P88 million for the procurement of rapid testing kits, four ventilators, cardiac monitors, additional personal protective equipment (PPEs) and facemasks for the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC), formerly known as the Ospital ng Angeles.

According to the city government, this would be in preparation for the mass testing of residents here in the city, which is eyeing to buy 30,000 rapid testing kits, previously approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), that would be used at RLMMC.

The city government has issued guidelines to first assess patients in dedicated triage area to determine to which sub-group they belong. This will tag individuals to “at-risk” groups who shall be prioritized in the testing.

Another the objective of the testing is to identify asymptomatic individuals especially the front line workers.

RLMMC is one of the seven eyed testing facility in Central Luzon applied for laboratory accreditation said the Deapartment of Health Region 3.

“ We have JBLMRH, The Medical City, Greencity, Central Luzon Doctors Hospitalm Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center and Ospital ning Angeles .” identified lists applied for mass testing laboratory accreditation by Dr. Lalaine Mangulabnan, chief of local support division- DOH RO3

Next to San Fernando, Angeles has the most number of confirmed cases in Pampanga with nine, to include five recoveries and one fatality. But it has the most number of suspected cases in Pampanga with 169.
