The local government unit (LGU) of Makati City on Friday announced that it is looking for volunteers with medical background that can assist in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The city government specifically needs doctors, nurses, medical technicians, respiratory therapists, and under board healthcare workers.

Those who will get accepted, according to the city, will be considered for subsequent hiring under Job Order status.

Makati City said it will provide them with the necessary training, personal protective equipment (PPE), meals, and transportation during scheduled hours. The volunteers will help in the mass testing efforts of the city.

Recently, the city government partnered with Philippine Red Cross (PRC) through a memorandum of agreement for the mass testing of around 2,000 frontliners, persons under investigation, and persons under monitoring.

Aside from PRC, the LGU also sends samples to the UP National Institutes of Health in Manila.

The city government said the following are the qualifications and requirements for aspiring volunteers: At least 18 years old and residing in Makati City; physically fit and without preexisting medical conditions or disabilities; able and willing to work in shifting schedules; *duly accomplished application form (Download link: https://bit.ly/MakatiVolunteerAppForm); recent copy of curriculum vitae or resume; copy of PRC license ID (if underboard, copy of diploma); and a copy of government-issued ID with Makati address.

The LGU also interested individuals may submit their documents to the following e-mail addresses: [email protected] and [email protected] with “Volunteer HCW for COVID19 Task Force” as the subject of the email.
