Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Director Regina Galias said, starting today, April 23, all arriving OFWs will undergo a medical test. Blood samples will be collected from the repatriated overseas workers to check for the new coronavirus.

All OFWs are also required to leave their personal contact details in order to be reachable in case they test positive for COVID-19.

Galias said OWWA apologizes to all OFWs for the inconvenience. She hopes the results can be releases after two to five days.

From NAIA, the returning OFWs will be brought to hotels assigned as their 14-day quarantine home. All the expenses are paid for by the government.
