The Las Piñas City Health Office has recorded 122 individuals infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) and nine deaths.
The barangays with the highest number of COVID-19 cases were Talon Dos with 18 cases; Pamplona Dos, 13; and BF International CAA, 11.
Dr. Ferdinand Eusebio, city health officer, said in an interview that 80 per cent of the cases involved individuals from the upper economic class, or those living in subdivisions or villages.
Eusebio said that the city health office is calling on discipline among the city residents in observing the enhanced community quarantine. He also urged residents to coordinate with them immediately if they feel that they have symptoms of the virus.
He also said that discipline among the city residents is the best way to prevent the spread of the virus by just following the health guidelines that the city government is imposing.
The city health officer added that they also have coordination with the barangays to help individuals they placed under quarantine to do the errands for them because they are not allowed to go out of their respective residences.
Eusebio also said that the city already started the rapid anti-body testing to about 20 individuals and found them negative from the virus.
He said that the city health workers and the other frontliners will be the first to be tested.
