Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar ordered the 20 barangay captains in the city to be vigilant in enforcing strict implementation of the home quarantine policy of the government, especially the use of the quarantine pass.

Aguilar came out with an order after the arrest of two individuals last Monday at Barangay CAA for selling fake quarantine passes at a price of P20 each.

She clarified that the quarantine pass issued by each barangays has a dry seal, with control number and signature of the barangay captain.

The mayor also asked the city residents to call and report to the police any illegal activities being perpetrated by a group of unscrupulous individuals for taking advantage while the country is under the enhanced community quarantine.

Aguilar was dismayed after a report of the police reached her office that a businesswoman and her accomplice were arrested last Monday afternoon while engaged in selling fake quarantine passes.

The police identified the suspects as Mareclina Cayanan,39, of Malugay St., CAA, Las Pinas City and Santiago Capon,26, of Bagong Lipunan, CAA, Las Pinas City.

Aguilar said that a total of 50 fake quarantine passes were recovered from the possession of the suspects in an entrapment operation.

She also said that the suspects were already able to sell 50 fake quarantine passes. The city police are now hunting holders of fake quarantine passes for filing of a case against them.

The two arrested suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and now facing charges of falsification of public documents.
