“We have started rolling out the vouchers for the condominium-dwellers in the city today. As promised, no one will be left behind during this pandemic. We are covering every sector in the city. It doesn't matter if you belong to the lower or middle class, the city will be at your service,” she said in a statement.

Binay earlier announced that each beneficiary will get a P500 grocery voucher.

According to the Makati city government, the P50-million worth of Puregold grocery vouchers will be given to some 100,000 residents from different barangays.

Mayor Binay said they chose to hand out grocery vouchers so that the beneficiaries will have the liberty of picking their needs which they deem essential for their family.

She said Makati City is already on the second wave of giving food aid to its constituents.

Binay assured residents that every household in each barangay will receive food packs from the city government.

Earlier, the Makati LGU provided food packs and cash assistance to the informal sector, solo parents, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and members of the jeepney and tricycle drivers and operators associations. Food packs were also delivered to public school students of the city.
