8 more sanitizing cubicles to be put up in Davao City

DAVAO CITY -- The city will be receiving eight more sanitizing cubicles that will help it in its fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was bared by Presidential Son and First District Rep. Paolo Duterte in a statement.

Duterte did not mention the date of its arrival, but he said the cubicles will be here along with 10 high-tech IR236 Fever Warning System equipment donated by his friends from China.

He said these 360-degree sanitizing cubicles with temperature scanner will automatically detect persons who have fever.

Duterte had earlier worked for the installation of three epidemic and sanitizing cubicles at Davao International Airport, Davao City Overland Transport Terminal and Task Force Davao checkpoint in Barangay Lasang.

He the government was already preparing because even if the quarantine will be lifted, the threat will remain; and to ease the worry of its constituents, the city will need to have the cubicles.

Meanwhile, Duterte said he will be also giving P3,000 cash assistance to trisikad drivers affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the COVID-19 crisis.

He said a total of 2,235 trisikad drivers have already been identified by his congressional office as beneficiaries in 54 barangays within the first district of the city.

He said the total cash assistance would amount to P6.7 million which will be given to the beneficiaries starting on Wednesday, along with foodpacks.

Duterte also said he had also been giving rice and food assistance to various orphanages, homes for the aged, and other health care institutions in Davao City.

He said among the identified beneficiaries are Living Stone Orphanage, Love for the Children, Padre Pio Home for the Children, SMAC Sisters, Child Hope Field of Dreams, Pang-amoma, Davao School for the Blind, Care for Elderly, Golden Haven, Good Shepherd, Rimeon Haven Homecare Nursing, Happy Hearts Caring Hand, Davao Serenity Spring, Country View Asstd. Living, St. Therese Senior, among others.

Duterte said the institutions received three sacks of rice each and dressed chickens.

He said several barangays have also received foodpacks from his office. Among them were Bucana 76-A, Talomo, Barangays 1A, 2A, 5A, Gravahan, 40, and Catalunan Grande.

Duterte said even the provinces in Davao Region have received a million face masks and 1,000 thermal guns coming from his office courtesy of his friends in China.
