Police flagged down two men, who introduced themselves as personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), at a quarantine checkpoint in Barangay Roma, Enrile, Cagayan.

Enrile town Police Major Lourvinn Layugan, who was then manning the checkpoint, found that two PCG personnel travelled from Metro Manila for personal reasons.

Layugan said one had to visit his ailing mother at a Tuguegarao City hospital, while the other had to be with his wife who just gave birth.

Report from the Cagayan Provincial Information Office yesterday said both uniformed personnel were not allowed to enter the province, but were given the option to return to Metro Manila or subject themselves to 14-day quarantine at the Police Regional Office (PRO-2) before they are allowed entry into Cagayan.
The two agreed to submit to the 14-day quarantine at the police station.
The Cagayan checkpoints were more strict of the implementation of the ECQ especially that almost fifteen(15) days there were no recorded cases of COVID-19 in the province.
