Aguilar said that the wearing of facemask is applicable to all individuals, residents, non-residents, traversing or sojourning to all public places within the jurisdiction of the city. She said that any person found to have violated the ordinance shall be penalized with a fine of P1,000, imprisonment of not less than 30 days, or both at the discretion of the court.

The mayor said that every individual is enjoined to wear face masks or any other similar protective paraphernalia when going out of their respective houses. This will serve as protection from the threat of acquiring the corona virus disease.

Aguilar said that the local police and the barangays stationed at their respective area of jurisdiction will be strict in conducting checks whether any individuals in public places are wearing face masks. She is also appealing to the public to follow the wearing of face masks that can help in ensuring that people are not passing the virus around, lessening the chance of the virus from spreading.
