Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso approved a P13 million budget to be distributed to 9,120 beneficiaries.

This is in line with Ordinance No. 8565 series of 2019 that states that each qualified and registered senior citizen will receive a P500-monthly allowance from the city government. They will be receiving their allowance from January to March 2020.

The local chief executive said the beneficiaries can check and withdraw the amount using their Paymaya cards on Friday. The amount can also be used to pay for items online or in establishments that scan Paymaya QR codes.

“Sa Biyernes, icheck n’yo po. Kayo po ay pagkakalooban ng P1,500 para sa tatlong buwan n’yong pensyon (Check your accounts on Friday. You will be given P1,500 for your three-month pension),” he said.

Domagoso also appealed for understanding from the senior citizens who have yet to receive their Paymaya cards.

The city mayor, however, assured them that they will still receive their whole allowance starting January 2020.

He said that the city government will resume distribution of Paymaya cards to senior citizens once the enhanced community quarantine has been lifted.
