Pharmacy employee arrested in Cagayan

A pharmacy cashier was arrested for allegedly selling overpriced alcohol in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Police Regional Office 2 (PRO-2) identified the suspect as Roxanne Tiwag, 30, a resident of Brgy. Sampaguita, Solana, Cagayan.

PRO-2 Director Brig. Gen. Angelito Casimiro said in a report that police and personnel from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted an entrapment operation April 13 at the Fervil Pharmacy in Barangay Usac Sur in Tuguegarao City.

The operation resulted in the arrest of Tiwag who was caught selling a gallon of alcohol for P750 when its prescribed selling price was only P520.

Also confiscated from the suspect were 79 boxes of alcohol, with four gallons in each box, and three gallons of 70 percent alcohol.

The suspect and confiscated items were brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cagayan Provincial Field Unit 2 for documentation and proper disposition.
