“The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has installed free Wi-Fi hotspots in new COVID-19 quarantine centers in Metro Manila. These are in Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) in Pasay City,” a post on DICT’s Facebook page on Wednesday read.
The DICT installed free WiFi at the said quarantine facilities to help health workers in their submission of situational reports.
The department also believes that this will help alleviate anxiety and fear among the frontliners as well as COVID-19 suspects, as despite their isolation they would still be able to communicate with their loved ones.
