PNP arrests 4 in P70 M drug bust

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested two foreigners and two of their Filipino cohorts in a buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Monday.

Brig. Romeo Caramat Jr., director of the PNP drug enforcement group said his men seized some 11 kilos of shabu with a street value of more than P70 million.

He identified the suspects as Clement Jnr Nwachukwu and Starboi Nwachukwu, both from Africa; and their alleged cohorts Mohammad Akil Esmail and Saimen Esmail.

Caramat said that the operation was conducted at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday near a mall in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

"They are high-value targets. We have been working for several days before we chanced upon them," said Caramat.

He said the arrested suspects are now under the custody for further investigation on the filing of appropriate charges.
