The mayor of the municipality of Naic has recovered from coranavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Junio C. Dualan said that faith and prayers gave him the strength to overcome the dreaded infection, amid the pains that he felt and difficulties that he experienced while on hospital confinement.

“Araw ng pagkabuhay ng ating Panginoong Hesus, dumating po ang resulta ng aking swab test at sa awa ng Panginoon ito po ay negative na (It was Easter when the result of my swab test came, and thank God, it turned out negative),” Dualan said.

The mayor recalled the days that went by since he felt the symptoms on March 17 and was found positive for COVID-19 on March 22.

Dualan was released from the hospital on April 13, upon the advice of his doctor to just rest at his home.

With his condition, the mayor assured that he will be visible to the public again in the next few days.

While in isolation in the hospital, Dualan said he was alone as receiving visitors was strictly prohibited as one of the protocols. The mayor said that faith and prayers strengthened him during the trying times.

In his message, Dualan said that he wanted to see and be with his constituents again in the next few days and has appealed to all to observe social distancing, wear face masks, and most of all, to stay at home.

The mayor reported in his Facebook account that as of 2 p.m. of April 13, Naic has four COVID-19 cases with one death and one recovery, and 16 suspected persons under investigation (PUIs) with zero persons under monitoring (PUMs).
