DFA tallies 660 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 among overseas Filipinos

The total number of overseas Filipinos with confirmed cases of COVID-19 is now at 660, including six new cases and five new recoveries, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in its latest report on Monday.

Despite the slight increase in new cases among Filipinos abroad, no new deaths were reported in the DFA’s updated tally.

Of the total number of cases, 384 overseas Filipinos are undergoing treatment in different health facilities abroad while 192 have been discharged or have recovered from the disease.

Since the start of the worldwide pandemic, a total of 84 Filipinos abroad have succumbed to COVID-19.

Among the regions, 230 cases were recorded in the Asia Pacific, 220 in Europe, 127 in the Americas, and 83 in the Middle East and Africa.

Earlier, Philippine Ambassador to Berlin Tess De Vega disclosed that nine Filipino nurses working in Germany have tested positive for COVID-19.

All nine nurses have shown “mild symptoms” and are undergoing treatment in various German hospitals.
