The 10th FSSU started producing these PPEs last March 23.

L.t. Col. Lawrence Aninag, commanding officer said 10th FSSU, said the unit has been able to manufacture 3,070 face shields, as of April 9. These were promptly distributed to different communities, frorntliners and organizations in Northern Mindanao, particularly Cagayan de Oro City and its neighboring municipalities.

Among the recipients of the face shields were Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT), the Oro Banker Association in Cagayan de Oro, various PNP units and offices, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Philippine Coast Guard- Northern Mindanao District, Camp Evangelista Station Hospital, and various units of 4th ID in Caraga region and Northern Mindanao region.

Aninag said they also plan to distribute around 1,300 more face shields to front liners in different areas, particularly to health workers and security forces.

Soldiers are also working double time to fast track another batch of 1,500 shields to cater to the needs of Army units and civilian health facilities in the 4th ID’s area of responsibility (AOR).

The 10th FSSU has also fabricated 200 face masks which were distributed to troops manning quarantine checkpoints.
