Two barangays in San Agustin, Isabela, were placed under total lockdown after a resident in the area tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In an interview with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Mayor Cesar Mondala said Barangays Masaya Sur and Masaya Centro were immediately placed under total lockdown after a resident, a 31-year-old woman, who was a health worker in Manila.

"After her contract with the hospital in Manila ended, her mother begged her to come home and help fight COVID-19, but she never thought she would be a carrier of the virus, herself," Mondala said.

The patient, identified only as PH4200, has been admitted at the Santiago Medical City where his condition has been reported as stable.

According to the mayor, contact tracing is currently underway with PH4200's acquaintances.

It was learned that she even distributed alcohol to the frontliners when she arrived in town.
