Discord has released a new beta feature for its desktop app that suppresses background noise. This means clearer voice and video chat without the occasional dog barking outside. This also means you won’t have to hear your colleague’s loud mechanical keyboard clicking as they type (even though the sound is actually soothing).
In light of rising security and privacy concerns, Discord has promised that all data is kept locally and isn’t shared with anyone else. The feature still has long ways to go and Discord is still working to improve it. Right now, the feature is limited to the desktop app. Discord said a mobile version will be available soon.
Discord is a communication app for chat and video that is designed for the gaming community. Since the pandemic, some people have turned to Discord to communicate with friends and colleagues.
