11 gamblers caught at Meycauayan ‘tupada’

CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – Underscoring that illegal gambling not only violates existing laws but also the social distancing guidelines under the enhanced community quarantine, Bulacan police have arrested 11 persons caught in-the-act of playing and betting in illegal cockfighting, or “tupada” in local parlance, in Meycauayan City, Friday afternoon.
Acting Bulacan Police Director Co. Lawrence B. Cajipe said the anti-illegal gambling operations in the province were also conducted by elements of the Marilao and Baliuag police and the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).

He identified those arrested in the Meycauayan operation as Vicente Subito, Salvador Ebuenga, Jeffrey Mariquit, Sandy Demetrio, Pablo Andujar, Vicente Monare, Rudy Manlapaz, Larry Francisco, Erwin Duma, Gilbert Llorca, and Ricky Palasan.
Illegal gambling paraphernalia and bet money were confiscated from the suspects during the operations.
Criminal complaints about Violations of PD 1602, Article 151 of the RPC (Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority) in connection to Presidential Proclamation No. 922 and 929 and RA No. 11332 (Section 9) against the arrested suspects are now being prepared for filing in court.
