CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The Department of Labor and Employment in Mimaropa (Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) has released cash assistance amounting to P8.5 million for 1,709 employees of 100 different establishments in the region.
DOLE Mimaropa Regional Director Albert E. Gutib said that each qualified employee has received one-time P5,000-cash financial assistance through bank or money remittance center transfers.
Gutib said he gave strict instructions to all his personnel that no worker shall be left behind in the distribution of cash incentives as they continuously evaluate and process thousands of applications under the Department’s coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP).
“This is just the first wave of financial assistance for the private sector. Companies are still welcome to submit their applications at the soonest possible time to provide additional aid to the affected formal sector workers,” Gutib said as he reminded them that any misrepresentation and tampered documents may disqualify the erring applicants.
DOLE launched the CAMP project last March 17 as safety net that offers financial support to affected workers in private establishments that have been forced to adopt flexible working arrangements and temporary closure due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the CAMP financial assistance, employers are obliged to secure revised establishment report on COVID-19 (as of March 27); list of affected workers; company payrolls or pay slips.
