Leyte’s No. 6 most wanted arrested in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY --  Alert operatives of the Baguio City Police Office arrested the No. 6 most wanted person in Leyte during a manhunt operation conducted at Justice Village, Marcos Highway, Baguio City.

Police Col. Allen Rae Co, city director, identified the suspect as Leonilo Canaz Medalla, 47, a construction worker, native of Carigara, Leyte, and presently residing at Justice Village, Baguio City.

He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Lauro AP Castillo Jr., of Branch 36, RTC 8th Judicial Region, Carigara Leyte, with no bail recommended.

Co, said the operation was conducted by the personnel of CMFC, CIU and Police Station 10 led by Lt. Col. Jethro Moog and Lt. Col. Maximo Sumeg-ang in coordination with Lt. Col. Mary Ivy Salazar of Cyber Financial Unit, PNP ACG. Co said Medalla is also a suspect in the death of Sgt. Fernan Canuda.
