The UPRI said “Yani the Endcovbot” is the newest artificial intelligence member of the university’s COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team.

“Yani, short for baYANIhan and named in honor of our heroes in the fight against COVID-19, is ready to help you find the information you need,” the UPRI said on its Facebook page.

The chatbot is accessible through Facebook Messenger and is also featured in the web portal http://endcov.ph/ which was earlier created by the team to provide the public with vital information for fighting the disease.

According to the team, Yani could provide information about the government’s policies in relation to health, education, transportation, as well as economic support.

Yani could also link the user to psychologists and psychosocial support specialists to help the public deal with mental and emotional problems, and could also assist them in finding the nearest hospitals.

It can also converse with the users both in English and Filipino, the UPRI added.#
