20 persons test negative for COVID-19 in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY - The Bacolod Inter-agency Task Force against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) reported that 20 persons tested negative for the viral disease.

Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the task force, said that the negative results included the repeated test of a 40-year-old man, who is tagged as Patient No. 3 here.

The patient came home from Manila on March 8, and manifested symptoms on March 11. He became critical a week after he was admitted to the hospital on March 19.

After another 12 days, though with some neurologic defects and still intubated, the condition of the patient started to gradually improve, Tan said.

Tan said the city now has 2,441 persons under monitoring (PUMs), 244 of them are still being monitored, and 2,155 already finished their home quarantine.

Three persons under investigation (PUIs) are still admitted at the hospital while five others have died while being treated in various health institutions.

Of the five casualties, three of them were tested negative for COVID-19, one was tested positive, while they were still waiting for the swab results of the other casualty.
