One of the biggest issues during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is the proliferation of fake news, so instant messaging software application Viber is helping reduce this by providing a direct link to the Department of Health (DOH).

During the Laging Handa Public Briefing with Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Tuesday morning, Viber Senior Director of Business Development for the Asia Pacific (APAC)
Anubhav Nayyar said that they have created a platform where their users can get "actual authentic information" directly from the DOH.

They are likewise partnering with the World Health Organization (WHO) to provide a similar platform.

"Trust what the DOH is saying," urged Nayyar. "They have the necessary expertise." He added that they are the source for "authentic" and "trustworthy" information.

Nayyar also said that Viber is helping flatten the curve of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic by keeping family, loved ones, and friends connected.
