PAL cabin crew members produce meals for frontliners

A group of Philippine Airlines (PAL) employees had the initiative to help frontliners while the enhanced community quarantine is ongoing in the country.

When all regular flights were eventually suspended and home quarantine was imposed on the employees, PAL flight steward Archie Nino Osio began reflecting on how he can be of service to others.

He thought of the guards in the PAL vicinity who continue to provide security. He thought of the airport security near the Inflight Center and the traffic enforcers in the area, He worried about the meals of medical workers.

When he learned about the good deed of purser Mary Ann Cabrera in a grocery and the happiness it brought to a fellow shopper, Osio realized how sharing can uplift the spirit of others. That moment gave birth to his concept "Crew Meals Para Sa Frontliners."

Coming from a family engaged in the catering business, he decided to convert their kitchen into one that will solely cook "crew meals for the frontliners." He also thought about the need to have a sufficient working capital. With the help of fellow PAL crew members, he was able to raise a substantial amount to produce the meals.

The PAL crew personally handed over the meals to PAL's Inflight Center security guards, law enforcers near IFC and airport security much to their surprise and delight. Deliveries will also be made to three hospitals. More deliveries are scheduled this April for hospital frontliners.
