The local stock market made a strong bounce yesterday as investors took heart from the rally in US bourses overnight.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) jumped 190.07 points, or 3.7 percent, to close at 5,321.23 with all sectors in the green as Holding Firms led gainers.
Volume was higher at 546 million shares worth ₱7.42 billion with gainers beating losers 132 to 53 with 41 steady.
“Philippine stocks closed higher today, building on a strong rally from last week as the US extended measures to contain the coronavirus outbreak,” said Regina Capital Development Corporation Managing Director Luis Limlingan.
