The D&L group of companies is committing over ₱100 million in financial support to employees and donations to various communities and institutions as part of its efforts to join the nation in fighting COVID-19.

T h r o u g h t h e group’s foundation, Lao Foundation Inc., the company has given ₱15,000 financial assistance to 99 families in communities where D&L operations are located.

On top of that, the foundation has approved an initial budget of ₱5 million to extend various forms of assistance to institutions that are in most need.

Personal protective equipment such as masks, goggles, as well as alcohol and other sanitation chemicals have also been donated by the group to various hospitals.

“Despite the various challenges due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), our plants remain operational in order to prevent any disruption in the supply of much needed raw materials in the food and sanitation chemicals industry,” D&L President and CEO Alvin Lao said.

He noted that, “This is only possible as our people remain committed in fulfilling their various roles in the organization. Likewise, we are equally committed in taking care of them and providing adequate assistance when they are most vulnerable.”

D&L had earlier committed to pay full salaries until the end of ECQ on April 13 to all its employees whether they are physically present in the office or are working from home. In addition, the company has already released half of the 13th month pay to employees last March 17.
