Parañaque City mayor reminds residents to be vigilant

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez advised the city residents to be vigilant after receiving reports that there is a group of people using his name in soliciting donations.

They are giving instructions to their victims to deposit money to a private bank account.

Learning of the scam being perpetrated by unscrupulous people, Olivarez immediately came out with an advisory stating that he is not involved in any solicitation.

He also advised the public to be careful and not to deposit their donations to this private account given to them.

Olivarez also gave a stern warning to those people involved. They will be criminally prosecuted and face imprisonment once caught. He also called on the city residents to help the city government in fighting the spread of COVID-19 in the city.

The mayor also appealed for the city residents to just stay home.

The city government is constantly delivering relief packages on a house-to-house basis to all barangays in the city.

“Please stay home and just pray,” said Olivarez.
