Hot and humid weather will prevail over most parts of the country today due to easterlies, while the low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility will bring rains showers and thunderstorms in Mindanao.
In the latest weather update of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), it said that two weather systems will be affecting the country this weekend.
PAGASA weather specialist Chris Perez said the LPA last spotted off 530 kilometers east southeast of Davao City will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Mindanao particularly in the Davao Region and the province of South Cotabato.
Perez added that the weather disturbance has a slim chance to further develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated showers due to easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, as well as localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are possible in the areas affected by the said weather systems, PAGASA said.
