Since Netflix released their adaptation of The Witcher last December, fans of the game re-played The Witcher 3 or propelled others who play it for the first time. One of the game’s mini-games (small games within the game itself) is Gwent, which has Geralt challenging people in various locations into a friendly card game. It’s a fun side quest to collect as much cards as possible.
Now, it’s possible to just play and enjoy Gwent on your Android devices as it becomes available on the Google Play Store for free.
It’s a complex card game that was developed CD Projekt Red, the same people who has been working on The Witcher videogames and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.
Your phone will need to run from Android 7 and above, also have at least 1.5 gigs of RAM, which most smartphones, even entry-level ones these days, have these days.
An iOS version has been available since October. If you have a GOG account, then cross-play with iOS and PC is available.
The game is played with a deck consisting of 25 cards. Gwent does not use a mana system like other card games like Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone.
