Investigation showed that the police led an entrapment operation against Robert Tiu Teng at his warehouse at about 10:30 a.m. after residents of the area and barangay officials reported that he was selling fake alcohol solution.

The suspect was collared after the police saw several containers of the bogus alcohol in his warehouse.

Teng was placed under Raxabago Police Station’s custody and will be facing appropriate charges, police said.

The warehouse was also immediately closed by the police.

Amid the COVID-19 crisis, people have hoarded disinfectants, including alcohol.

Some were found to be selling their hoarded alcohol bottles at much higher prices. A few have also tried peddling fake COVID-19 medicine.
