BACOLOD CITY – A 20-year-old man found the burnt body of a woman near a bridge at Barangay Poblacion, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental on Wednesday.

A copy of the city’s closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage showed that the woman was seen buying gasoline from a nearby gasoline station, and was walking towards the Bateria bridge. She was also seen holding two bottles of liquor in the CCTV footage taken on Tuesday, a report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) said.
The following day, she was found dead around 7:30 a.m. Authorities recovered from the scene the bottles of liquor with gasoline, and a lighter. The victim’s family, according to the police, said that the victim was suffering from depression which might be the cause of her death. A post mortem examination was conducted to determine if there was foul play in her death.
