P5.2-million shabu, cocaine seized; 2 suspects nabbed in Real, Quezon

REAL, Quezon – Some P5.2 million worth of cocaine and shabu was seized from two suspected high-value targets in a buy-bust operation pulled off by the Real Municipal Police Station at Barangay Uno, Thursday, here.

The suspects were identified as John Paul Astoveza, 22, a construction worker; and Mark Aljon Buendicho, 26, a factory worker. Both were residents of Barangay Minahan Sur in General Nakar, Quezon, said Police Lieutenant Rolly Dahug, the town’s chief of police.
At 4 p.m., Real police conducted a drug buy-bust operation in Purok Gumamela, Barangay Poblacion Uno assisted by a confidential informant who introduced the police poseur-buyer to the suspects.
During the operation, the police officer, who acted as poseur buyer, bought from Buendicho a sachet of shabu.
After the handoff, Buendicho and Astoveza were immediately taken into custody.
A body search later conducted by the police yielded cocaine with an estimated weight of 990 grams valued at P5.247 million and a small quantity of shabu.
