All Customs stakeholders have been encouraged to process their transactions online so as not to impede the operations of the bureau during the one-month enhanced community quarantine.

“All Bureau of Customs (BOC) stakeholders are encouraged to utilize the BOC Online Services such as BOC Portal and Goods Declaration Verification System that may be accessed through the official website of the Bureau (customs.gov.ph),” the bureau said in a statement.

The bureau said this is to avoid risks related to exposures to external and internal stakeholders while physically transacting with the offices in the bureau.

Through the BOC portal, the stakeholder may communicate with all the offices in the Customs bureau for following-up of documents, renewal of accreditation, electronic submission of letter requests such as lifting of abandonment, among others.

Stakeholders may also refer to the Good Declaration Verification System to check the status of their entry or if they encounter any problems in their goods declaration.

“To brokers, truckers, and other BOC stakeholders, we also have set up and assistance desk for you,” Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip Maronilla said.

Maronlla said the bureau is also considering the extension for renewal of accreditation.

“But we are reminding you that requirements can be processed through online application. Kasama ito sa unang issue na pinag-aaralan na maari nating ibigay na relief, tinitingnan pa namin kung ano yung ibang platforms na puwedeng ibigay (This is among the issues we are looking into that would provide relief to stakeholders. We are also looking into other possible platforms),” Maronilla said.

The measure, the bureau reiterated, was implemented to facilitate trade while controlling the spread of the virus along with alternative work arrangements, bureau-wide disinfection, heightened health and safety measures.
