PUI, who died prior to release of COVID-19 results, tests positive

DAVAO CITY – The person under investigation (PUI), who passed away Tuesday morning at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) in Marawi City, tested positive of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed.

According to the latest DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin issued by the health department 4 p.m. Wednesday, PH 201 was the 15th death in the country due to COVID-19.
The 58-year-old male patient was admitted at the AMPC on March 10, and died after seven days with physicians not knowing if he was positive for COVID-19 or not.
And it was only a day after he died that the DOH finally announced that the cause of the death of the patient was acute respiratory distress syndrome secondary to having the COVID-19.
The DOH said the patient also had a pre-existing diabetes mellitus, and had traveled to Malaysia.
Bangsamoro Parliament Member Zia Alonto Adiong said the patient was buried past 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Maqbarah Provincial Public Cemetery.
