A man was arrested after allegedly refusing to fall in line for verification and thermal scanning at the border of Valenzuela City and Bulacan province on Monday morning, during Metro Manila’s one-month quarantine.

Police identified him as Dionisio Bonote, 56, resident of Meycauayan, Bulacan.

The incident happened along MacArthur Highway at the Bulacan border of Valenzuela in Barangay Malanday around 9:40 a.m.

According to a police report, Bonote was approaching the boundary while riding his bicycle when he was asked to fall in line for thermal scanning. However, he did not oblige.

The police report added that instead, he allegedly yelled at a member of Northern Police District Mobile Force Battalion and said: “Ano ka ba dito, hindi mo ba alam ako ang batas (Don't you know that I'm the law)?” This prompted lawmen to arrest him.

Police said charges of resistance and disobedience to a person in authority, alarms and scandal and unjust vexation will be filed against him.
