Curfew starts to be implemented in Virac

VIRAC, Catanduanes – A curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. was imposed starting Tuesday, March 17, here in compliance with the Presidential proclamation declaring a state of public health emergency in the country, and the placing of entire Luzon under enhanced community quarantine.

Mayor Sinforoso M. Sarmiento Jr. signed the executive order, mandating the eight-hour curfew which was expected to be fully implemented by the Philippine National Police (PNP), barangay and local government officials.

Community patrol and checkpoints will be carried out to ensure that the curfew hours are observed.

Violators will be escorted back home.
