DOH lists 14 countries with ‘high-risk importation’ of COVID-19

The Department of Health has listed 14 countries which have “high risk of importation” of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a memorandum dated March 13, the DOH issued a list of countries “for triaging of travellers at different ports of entry, pursuant to the most recent COVID-19 algorithm.”

The countries are South Korea, Singapore, Australia, China, Malaysia, Japan, Spain, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, and the United States of America.

The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) was directed to “regularly update and disseminate through the list a BOQ Memorandum Circular in coordination with ASEAN Biodiaspora Virtual Center through the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau.”

The BOQ must issue the circular every Wednesday at 12:00 noon and must be implemented at 6:00 a.m. on the following day.
