The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday confirmed the death of another patient due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The patient, PH13, was a 56-year old male who died of acute respiratory distress syndrome and was reported to have pre-existing asthma, DOH said in a statement.
He was admitted to the Makati Medical Center last March 7.
He showed symptoms of fever and cough on Feb. 18 and was tested positive for COVID-19 on March 19.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the country to 12.
