Lockdown, quarantine, social distancing, whatever state you’re in, there are things worth doing and starting. Make and get the best out of this experience. Rather than ranting about everything and looking at life in fear, focus on the things that you can control and the things that will make you a better version of you.
Here are some of the things you can do.
1. Start to eat healthier food
Boost your immune system through food like eating (more) vegetables and fruits. Partner that with Vitamin C and other supplements if you can.
2. Start that Diet
Start that diet you promised yourself on your new year’s resolution. Start cutting on those carbs and sugar as diabetics are susceptible to COVID-19. You can even save on food by eating less or going into intermittent fasting. Research first online before choosing what you think you can easily start. Just start.
3. Learn howto cook
Prepare your own food. You will appreciate more what you’re eating by knowing how to prepare and cook them. Let this be your first new skill. If you already know how to cook then use the time to practice some more or learn a new dish.
4. Start to plant your own food
Start a small vegetable garden in your house or apartment. Start planting those easy to plant vegies like pechay, kamatis, sili, or even togue. You can plant them today and harvest within the next 30-60 days. Have your own salad from your home garden.
5. Read a book
Any book. Start with the one that interests you. Then read something that will help you improve your performance in your work or study. Try to finish reading 1 book per week. Key here is to have a goal eg. Read a chapter or two every 2 hours. You’re done reading a book before you knew it.
This is just part 1. I will have a follow-up soon. Meanwhile enjoy your longer time of stay at home alone or with your family.
Stay positive in life and not with the virus.
