Manila Summer Pride March, other events, postponed due to COVID-19

Several events by the Manila City government, including the Manila Summer Pride March, were postponed in light of the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) threat.

The Manila Summer Pride March slated on April 16, will be moved to a later date, Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso announced on Friday.

Other events that were postponed include the Sarang'gora Na on March 21, and Viva Manila and Rock N' Roll Marathon on March 31.

The Senakulo scheduled on April 6 was also cancelled.

President Duterte placed Metro Manila under community quarantine from March 15 to April 14 after announcing the upgrading of the Philippines' COVID-19 alert level system to Code Red Sublevel 2 on Thursday.

The Department of Health said there are now five fatalities and 52 COVID-19 cases in the country.
