The Las Pinas City government confirmed that a 53-year-old man confined at the Las Pinas General Hospital and Trauma Center tested positive for COVID-19.
The Las City Public Information Chief, Jimi Castillano, said that the patient was found to have no history of travel abroad.
Castillano said that Mayor Imelda Aguilar upon learning that there is a city resident tested positive for COVID-19 virus, immediately dispatched the surveillance team of the Las Pinas City Health Office to conduct contact 48 tracing of the family members of the patient and other persons whom he had contact with.
He also said that the mayor also ordered the surveillance team to determine where the patient is living.
The city government also created a COVID-19 operation center which will serve as help line and will monitor all persons with symptoms of the disease.
The mayor told the city residents to call 8994-57-82/ 091561735 for Globe and 09284627034 for Smart number in case they known of any resident symptoms of the disease.
Aguilar also told the city residents not to panic because the city government is following all the protocols set by the Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
