TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A former police intelligence officer died after he was shot by unidentified suspects in Barangay San Roque, Enrile, Cagayan on Tuesday evening.
Police Colonel Ariel Quilang, director of Cagayan police provincial office, identified the victim as Police Staff Sergeant Alvin Anog, who was assigned in the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office 2.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was on his way home on-board his motorcycle at about 10:00 p.m. when he was ambushed and shot by the unidentified suspects.
The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital by the responding lawmen and residents in the area but was declared dead on-arrival.
Quiland said that a Special Investigation Task Force was immediately created by the PNP Cagayan to probe the policeman’s slay.
