Davao City begins disinfection of parks, terminals, other public places

DAVAO CITY -- Teams from the City Health Office (CHO) here have started the disinfection of public parks, terminals, ports, and all city government offices to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

City Health Office (CHO) Chief Dr. Josephine Villafuerte said Tuesday night the disinfection operation will be conducted every week or every two weeks. The next disinfection will be in other government and district offices.

“We make sure that these places are disinfected so that whoever is sick or has viral infection will not infect others. So we want to make the environment safe for the children and the community,” she said.

The private sector is also encouraged to practice these preventive measures, especially in areas frequented by people.

Villafuerte assured that the disinfectant chemicals being used are not harmful to humans.

“Please practice universal precautions. Kung unsa gani health advice, please sundon pud nato because you’re not just protecting yourselves but you also protect your family and the community (Please follow health advisories because you’re not just protecting yourselves but you are also protecting your family and the community),” she said.
