The Worldwide Corporate Center building in Mandaluyong City, where the CNN Philippines headquarters is located, was struck by a fire Tuesday night, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
Mandaluyong City Fire Marshal Supt. Christine Cula said the fire was reported at the commercial establishment located along Shaw Boulevard at around 7:40 p.m.
Cula said the fire was declared out at around 7:52 p.m.
The fire, she said, started from the kitchen of a food stall inside the building.
“Gas range lang po involved at gumana naman po ang sprinklers,” Cula told the Manila Bulletin.
(Only a gas range was involved and the sprinklers came on.)
The establishment houses commercial and office spaces.
As of writing, the fire marshal said there were no reported injuries due to the incident.
The BFP is yet to determine the extent of damage caused by the blaze.
