Drug pusher shot dead in San Pablo City

SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna – A gun-for-hire member and notorious drug pusher in the 3rd district of Laguna was killed by police in a drug buy-bust operation on Saturday night at Barangay San Francisco, in this city.

The suspect identified as Alexander Minalang, also known as Alex Muslim, 41, and a resident of 271 Garcia St., Brgy. Nueva in San Pedro City, Laguna. He was a member of the Castro gun-for-hire group, police sources said.

At 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, the Laguna Provincial Intelligence Branch/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, San Pablo City Police and PDEA 4A conducted joint anti-illegal drugs operation against the suspect.

The report added that the suspect sensed that he was transacting with an intelligence operative who posed as poseur buyer and managed to buy a sachet of shabu in exchange for P1,000.

At that instance, the suspect drew his firearm tucked in his waist and fired at the police operatives. The police fired back, hitting the suspect who was rushed to the Panlalawigang Pagamutan ng Laguna where he was declared dead.

The suspect was notoriously involved in the proliferation of illegal drugs in the 3rd district of Laguna, the police report said.
