Police identified the fatality as Jake Lorence Tortogo, who was only five months old.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Aaron Bais said the body of the infant was found floating at sea by a person who was gathering seashells in Barangay 35 at around 6 a.m.

According to the infant’s aunt, the baby boy was sleeping on a hammock when their house, which was situated near a creek, was destroyed by flash flood on Friday night.

Bais said the baby went missing, as it could have been carried away by the strong current of flood water.

The baby was left to his aunt’s care because her parents had to go to work Friday.

Most of the major thoroughfares here were flooded due to incessant rains brought by a low-pressure area on Friday.
